Full-Time Child Care Specialist – Effon-Alaiye
Job Description
This role is in charge of keeping an eye on child care providers to ensure that they are following all applicable laws, regulations, and procedures. This job is also responsible for conducting monitoring visits and recommending to Team Leads the approval or denial of registration applications or renewals of child care homes and centers within the allocated counties and caseload.

Qualifications:
- Make sure you have the appropriate flexibility to meet the demand for health and safety monitoring visits on weekends and at night, if necessary.
- Limited collaboration between owners, administrators, boards, and child care providers in a certain geographic region to ensure compliance with child care regulations.
- Child care providers are inspected and evaluated to verify that they are adhering to state and federal standards and laws.
- Students of diverse ages, sizes, compositions, and more may be accommodated by the educational philosophy of the center and the involvement of other staff members.
- Social workers collaborate with investigators to look into and record any claims of abuse, neglect, or misbehavior.
- Informs and explains child care providers about concerns that need corrective action, develops a plan for appropriate corrective action, and establishes timelines for completing the repairs or improvements.
- Self-confidence, trust and respect for others are fostered in a growth-promoting atmosphere.
- Maintains data on child care registration in collaboration with the division and the information technology group.
- Conducts training, answers to inquiries, and provides facility owners with child-care-related information.
- Recommends to the State whether new child care provider applications should be granted or refused, and if current child care provider registration should be cancelled.
Skills:
- It is preferable to have knowledge of the Child Care Resource and Referral Service or child care programs, as well as experience working with low-income families.
- It is necessary to be able to effectively communicate information to groups of managers, clients, board members, and the general public, as well as to respond to enquiries.
- Readability and comprehension of business journals, technical procedures, and rules.
- A master’s degree or the equivalent in post-baccalaureate academic studies is required. Four years of management or teaching experience in an educational program.
