Qualifications:
- Get in touch with record labels, publishers, and other relevant partners to arrange and negotiate all necessary licensing and synch rights.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure that spending stays within set limits.
- Regular expectations include participating in opportunity evaluations and new audio design and development.
- Work on the budget with the line producer, supervising producer, and musical acts.
- Gather audio from interviews, concerts, events, and television shows to use in the program.
- Producing/creative oversight of acts as needed.
- The role of Music Producer is highly interdependent, requiring coordination between numerous individuals and groups of different sizes to realize the job’s ultimate goals.
- Management of music team to help execute all music performances.
- This individual must also be a stickler for norms, have excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively explain ideas and designs.
- Meeting with and attending events hosted by managers, publicists, and record companies is a great way to build ties with these individuals.
Skills:
- shown ability to offer substantial input towards the development of novel strategies for the production of musical works for radio and the internet.
- prior managerial experience, coaching skills, and ability to promote teamwork.
- ability to juggle multiple tasks and determine which are most important to do in a given amount of time.
- The ability and willingness to connect and collaborate with other teams on the show and to book guests outside of the realm of music (such as celebrities, newsmakers, and athletics).
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the music business; experience working for a record company or booking/producing at a variety event (late at night, during the day, or in the morning) is a bonus.
