Job Description
In close coordination with the Directors of Credit and Risk, the Credit Manager oversees the monitoring of credit risk, the research of new customers, and the collection activities across many industries. One of the primary goals of this department going forward is to improve overall credit and collections workflow efficiency through the use of data analysis and reporting systems.

Qualifications:
- Keep an eye out for the filing of liens and releases of liens, and get legal help if you need it.
- Review of various receivable aging data on a regular basis to spot accounts that need follow-up contact.
- Establish and maintain external business/industry relationships including attorneys, collection agencies, credit bureaus and other credit associations.
- control, design, and administer all credit and collections-related procedures and initiatives. Credit checks, debt collections, and new customer signups are all handled by this division.
- Maintain a level of accounts receivable that is reasonable given the current economy and company needs.
- Using a manage by exception attitude, search out innovative ways to automate, streamline, or remove jobs in the credit department to enhance processes and save costs.
- Develop trend tracking, collecting activity, and risk monitoring reporting and analytics for upper management. Include the highest-risk accounts and any recommendations for lowering them in your report.
- If there is an issue with collecting payments or making deductions, you should talk to higher-ups and the proper staff members to figure out how to proceed.
- Establish reliable contact with clients and engage often with internal personnel via phone and email to maximize your value to both parties.
- Oversee the Credit Department’s Collection Efforts. Seek out, record, and settle any outstanding issues or debts. Find a solution to any collecting issues. Participate in conversations with clients and sales staff to aid in debt collection efforts.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills as well as the ability to use sound judgment and make judgments based on accurate and timely analyses are required.
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and understanding business periodicals, trade journals, news articles, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Expertise in managing finances and extending credit for at least three years; ideally gained in the oil and gas, manufacturing, or building industries.
- Excellent customer service abilities, powerful interpersonal abilities, negotiation skills, the capacity to communicate and manage effectively at all organizational levels and with staff members located in remote places are important.
- Very trustworthy and honest, with a keen sense of urgency and focus on getting things done.
