Job Description

Patients may expect high-quality photos and examinations from a Radiologist who is also sensitive to their individual requirements. Radiation safety guidelines are adhered to. Leads by example and serves as a role model for the other associate technicians in the department. Accurate testing, preparing for physical examinations, blood draws, evaluating and triaging patients, and keeping clinical supply inventory are just some of the responsibilities of a medical assistant. Appropriate documentation is completed and processed for business and tracking patient care. Serves as a clinical resource for the unit’s staff and ensures that the unit’s practice standards are up to date.

Qualifications:

  • In the production and delivery of contrast media and/or drugs, adheres to federal and state requirements. While watching, takes note of the patient’s unusual conduct. Examines procedures and provides ideas for improvements as needed.

  • Offers all the services needed to safely and quickly finish a patient’s procedure. Keeps up-to-date on cardiac concepts and clinical practices, immobilizes patients as needed, and follows safety procedures for radiation.
  • Maintains aseptic standards throughout the duration of medical and surgical operations, employs appropriate infection control measures, etc.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited medical college and radiology residency.
  • Accredited by the right board. Should be a member of the American Board of Radiology, Must keep their membership in the Medical Protective Association (or equivalent).
  • Diagnostic imaging expert Radiology experience desired (minimum 2 years), Vitals experience
  • State-required certification and/or fluoroscopy permit Current BCLS, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, must be mastered (AHA), Radiographers with at least one year of acute clinical experience are desirable. Graduate of a JRCERT or ABHES-accredited program.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Radiologic Technician (RT(R), or Cardiovascular Technician (CVT)) or RCIS is required (RCIS)
