Job Description
The Financial Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Administration, and must be capable of processing financial transactions in the company’s processing systems, including group and individual billing, automated clearing house (ACH) processing, and cash receipt processing. Maintain and balance group and individual receivables, including processing delinquent accounts and terminating accounts. Manage the collection of group administration fees and the payment of vendors. Invoice for third party administrator (TPA) claims processing and management of claim funding receipt and application.

Qualifications:
- Among the responsibilities of the incumbent will be the analysis and direction of financial programs and challenges, as well as assistance for the FIAR (Financial Improvement Audit Readiness) Program’s day-to-day functioning.
- Talk and work with people at different levels of management and users to keep them up to date on project progress and issues so that they can support and buy into systems/solution integration efforts and process reengineering efforts.
- In order to ensure appropriate vendor payment, it is necessary to query the payroll deductions database on a regular basis and to employ billing administrator-reported inactive payment reports. Prepare monthly summaries and reports on payroll deductions (using pivot tables and spreadsheets), benefit plans, and invoices, and utilize controls to ensure correctness; make vendor payments in accordance with the summaries and reports produced. Ad hoc analyses are carried out as and when required.
- Additional tasks for the Associate Analyst include monthly fee computations and spreadsheets showing rolling monthly data for the previous 12 months.
- Observes and reports on the state and progress of work, inspects work in progress and upon completion for quality, adherence to instructions, and to verify that goals are achieved..
- Assistance in the preparation and processing of different transactional accounting forms and reports, such as journal entries, expenditure reclassifications, and cash receipts.
- PCMI, Western Growers Assurance Trust (WGAT), as well as individual account transactions, were manually verified in the HealthCare Processing System’s group ledger (COBRA).
- Proactively communicate with various levels of management and users to acquire support for system/solution integration and process reengineering activities.
- It is important for this person to be able to make sure that agency-wide policies and controls are in place to make sure that funds are acquired, allocated, distributed, used, and spent properly.
- Business, compliance, and information technology teams should collaborate to offer effective support for forward-looking financial and compliance initiatives, including solutions and procedures that allow growth while increasing efficiency.
Skills:
- Having a lot of experience managing projects with teams from all over the world shows that the person has very good project management skills.
- Aside from familiarity with standard office applications like calendaring and word processing, you should have some familiarity with an as-yet unreleased healthcare system as well.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience in the accounting or finance industry.
- Effectiveness in directing subordinates in the use of automated data processing principles, systems capabilities, and economic usages in order to execute tasks.
- Having a working knowledge of budgeting and financial management ideas and strategies.
