Qualifications:
- Establishes and continues to maintain robust accounting controls that are adequate to assure compliance with the regulations and directives of all regulatory authorities, both internal and external to the organization.
- Ensures functioning of equipment by setting preventative maintenance needs and service contracts, managing equipment inventories, and assessing new equipment and procedures.
- Provides unique reports, interprets financial data and related systems, and identifies potential problem areas for Property Management at all levels.
- Executes investigations in the areas of research and analysis, resulting in reports that include assessments of profitability and return on investment, as well as cost data comparisons to support findings and proposals.
- For the company’s assets to be properly managed, this department is responsible for setting up adequate accounting systems for revenue recognition and cost accruals.
- Performs reviews and analyses of the budget as well as the financial reports, as well as creates and makes revisions and suggestions for the financial plan. Provide internal management and the parent firm with information and outcomes, as well as communicate and distribute them.
- Work with internal stakeholders and outside tax experts to ensure timely and accurate tax return filing and distribution of quarterly tax payments. This should be done while taking local, state, and federal restrictions into consideration.
- Researching old and new pieces of legislation, predicting new pieces of legislation, enforcing adherence to regulations, submitting financial reports, and providing advice to management on appropriate courses of action are all part of maintaining compliance with legal obligations imposed by the federal government, state governments, and local governments.
- As needed, support Finance Department projects, such as the development of software and systems and other departmental or enterprise-wide enhancements, via research, planning, and execution.
- In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, supervision, and support of team members as they carry out daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities in order to correctly record, classify, and control financial transactions.
Skills:
- A four-year degree in accounting or similar experience is required, as is at least five years of experience in accounting or a related subject, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Self-starter who confronts challenges and gets things done without continual supervision. Continuously pursues greater responsibility while soliciting and acting on criticism.
- For consideration for this role, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, or finance at the very least. Candidates who have earned a master’s degree or have other professional certifications are given significant weight in the selection process (such as a CPA or CMA).
- Maintains job outcomes for finance staff through coaching, mentoring, and punishing personnel, as well as planning, monitoring, and assessing job performance.
- The candidate must have a minimum of ten years of expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial matters, along with a proven knowledge with accounting concepts and corporate taxes.
