Job Description
An enthusiastic Forester with professional expertise is needed by our company to help us manage our natural resources. The Forester serves as the Senior Resource Forester’s right-hand man in a wide range of capacities and duties throughout the industrial forest’s many departments. Work with a team of foresters to ensure that the company’s natural resources are managed in a way that meets or exceeds the company’s yearly objectives.

Qualifications:
- Verifies, sets up, and inventories the yearly thin and harvest schedule, as well as road design and access rights of way and any other duties that may be necessary in connection with the sale administration of the crop.
- Forestry-related websites should be kept up to date and new outreach materials should be made to support different forestry programs.
- In charge of general forestry needs, such as early-rotation and mid-rotation tasks, contract administration, and/or other duties as assigned.
- Assists and participates in municipal inspections of tree and landscaping installation. Makes sure that the quality, quantity, and type of plant materials used are acceptable; makes sure that the proper procedures for protecting existing and installing new plants are followed; and makes sure that provisions for maintenance and care of plant materials are in place.
- Performed inspections of landscaping, tree removal, and site clearing plans submitted to the city to ensure compliance with municipal codes and ordinances; collaborated with lower level inspectors regarding site inspections to ascertain correctness of information contained within submitted plans; reviewed factors and granted or denied applications; notifies applicants in writing of reasons in the event of denial. Assigned to and participated in inspections of site clearing activities to ensure work was performed.
- Keep an eye on county-owned forestland and help write forest stewardship plans that will help the county manage the land in the future, as well. Our job is to get and look at data that we get from the field and to figure out what it means. These things help us figure out how the forest is laid out. To use the FLAT, work with staff and contractors. Make sure that all forestland parcels that have recently been bought are in good shape with this app.
- Site plan reviewers from several disciplines (stormwater management, zoning, and transportation) collaborate to ensure that code requirements for other disciplines are met without interfering with the tree and landscape code.
- Silviculture, forestry management, and harvest monitoring on company-owned or privately-owned property.
- As part of the Streets Division, this person takes care of the trees in the city and teaches other Streets Division workers how to do the job right.
- In responsibility of ensuring that the region’s silviculture strategy and the yearly plan are implemented, field-verifying treatment candidates and providing management with information about the setting, negotiating contracts for silviculture and overseeing operations.
Skills:
- Perform inspections and identify pathological plant problems; educate employees in tree and landscaping inspections; build and manage effective tree and landscaping inspection systems; conduct inspections and give diagnosis. Analyze the viability of repairing sick or otherwise damaged trees. Review landscaping designs and make an informed decision on whether they should be accepted or rejected. Enforce laws, ordinances, and rules in a fair and consistent manner..
- The ability to build and sustain good working relationships with other workers, departments, and the general public.
- There is a very high standard for all elements of tree care, from planting to pruning to disease detection and treatment. A detailed grasp of the different tree care methods is also required.
- Excel and Word proficiency, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities, are necessary for this role.
- From an approved institution or university, six months of experience in landscape design and six months of experience in tree and landscape inspections is required for all applications
