Qualifications:

  • In order to guarantee that bills are issued promptly and correctly, and that client and lawyer preferences are appropriately handled, it is essential to have a thorough awareness of client billing and payment terms, discount agreements, as well as the preferences of both parties.
  • Contact lawyers and billers as needed for effective communication among partners, administrative personnel, and the finance department and billers’ team.
  • Work with the Senior Billing Manager to develop standard processes and procedures for all phases of the billing cycle; maintain current documentation of such procedures
  • Manages internal resources and cultivates connections to support the success of PSCO’s CIAC Extension Policy. To meet tariffs, provide leadership and advice to extension colleagues. In response to changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls, develop, discuss, and execute consistent process improvements. Monitor extension activities, ensure appropriate CIAC payment collection and processing, and authorize refunds. Ensure that CIAC extensions are communicated to internal and external departments in a timely manner. Train all persons involved in the CIAC extension process.
  • Participate in new billing team member interviews and training, as well as produce educational materials for attorneys, secretaries, and legal assistants on billing procedures.
  • Mentor, train, and offer ongoing feedback; manage and juggle billing assignments; and control direct reports’ schedules and overtime obligations as assigned.
  • Recommend paying off prior obligations and maintaining billing rates as consistent as feasible.
  • Demonstrate success in the following areas: training, compliance, financial effect, audit outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to the company’s senior executives and transmit them to them. Incorporate CIAC extension concerns into other work processes and activities by collaborating with other organizations to identify and investigate process improvements as well as possibilities for their integration.
  • In order to provide training and compliance assistance, you must first understand the requirements of your department and customers. Ascertain that resources are allocated to satisfy these requirements. Provide comments and suggestions on problems affecting corporate financial and customer satisfaction objectives, as well as regulatory compliance to other divisions of the firm.
  • The CIAC extension department’s policies, procedures, and processes are developed, implemented, and monitored to ensure compliance with regulations and rules as well as customer satisfaction. Process and policy homogeneity throughout PSCO is encouraged by this position. Aggressively identifying and pursuing operational performance gaps in policies and procedures.

Skills:

  • Data and process analysis skills, as well as collaboration with other departments, are required.
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Aderant (or another billing industry standard collection software), and Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates must also have great organizational skills as well as the ability to manage various activities and meet tight deadlines while knowing scope, deliverables, and timetables.
  • BS degree in Accounting, Management or related field, minimum of 5 years work experience in utility operations, regulatory, accounting, auditing or business process work experience or equivalent.
  • You must have excellent customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal, writing, leadership/interpersonal, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to engage successfully with people at all levels.
