Job Description
The Medical Office Assistant is in charge of maintaining order and efficiency in the waiting room. Potentially, this role will serve as a supervisor for front desk assistants. In order to be eligible, you need to have worked in a medical office for at least five years.

Qualifications:
- Assemble projects, collate materials, make copies, facsimile, and file documents as needed.
- Carries out clerical or administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering data, and registering patients.
- Perform patient check-in and out procedures, schedule follow-up appointments, and compile relevant data.
- Medical Dimensions submits all correspondence relating to research coding and billing to the clinic, and the clinic promptly replies to all correspondence.
- Based on the urgency and importance of the call, it may be forwarded to a different department.
- Constant communication with directors, managers, and committee members can be ensured by typing memos, letters, position summaries, flowcharts, graphs, deviation reports, policies, and procedures.
- Makes referrals to specialists when required or as directed by the provider.
- Reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting are all part of maintaining equipment and medical supplies.
- Collecting copayments, deductibles, and account balances follows the posting of charges and the completion of necessary paperwork.
- aids in the “”end of the day balancing/closing”” procedure and the preparation of deposits for courier pickup.
Skills:
- Candidates must be comfortable working with computers, printers, and fax machines.
- requires a high level of critical thinking and the ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
- It is preferable to have completed one year of medical assistant training and have a high school diploma.
