Job Description
The Medical Office Assistant is in charge of managing the Front Office and making sure everything operates effectively. This job may be in charge of one or more front office support personnel. To be eligible, you must have 5+ years of experience working in a medical office.

Qualifications:
- The process of collecting copayments, deductibles, and account balances begins after charges have been posted and all necessary paperwork has been completed.
- Conducts research on medical aspects’ coding/billing messages sent to the clinic and provides timely responses to all inquiries.
- As needed, you may also be asked to undertake clerical or administrative duties such as filing, greeting visitors, arranging appointments, entering data, and registering patients.
- Makes referrals to specialists when required or as directed by the provider.
- By typing memorandums, letters, position summaries, flow charts, graphs, deviation reports, and policies and procedures, you can ensure that information reaches directors, managers, and committee members on time.
- Reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting are all part of maintaining equipment and medical supplies.
- Assign administrative duties such as filing, faxing, photocopying, collating, and project assembly as needed.
- Greet and check out patients, schedule follow up appointments, and collect appropriate paperwork.
- According to the level of urgency, calls are routed to the appropriate department.
- aids in completing “end of the day balancing/closing” and getting deposits set up for courier pickup.
Skills:
- Preferable medical office assistant experience of at least three years.
- Ability to use personal computer, printer, fax machine is required for this job.
- requires the capacity to operate independently and the use of critical thinking and judgment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently make judgments is required.
- Preferably, you have a high school diploma and have finished your year of medical assistant training.
