  • Consults with physicians and other practitioners to get additional patient information, modify treatment plans, and incorporate physical therapy into the patient’s overall health care.
  • Instructs, motivates, and assists the patient with a variety of physical tasks, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and the use of assistive and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Tests a patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capabilities, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records the results in order to build or amend treatment programs.
  • Understands various payment methods and efficiently distributes therapy resources based on resident goals and outcomes as they pertain to discharge destination.
  • Implement a Care Plan, hold patients responsible for adhering to it, and alter the timetable and plan as needed based on the patient’s progress.
  • By preventing the beginning, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limits, and disabilities caused by diseases, disorders, maladies, or injuries, you can avoid their development, symptoms, and progression.
  • Perform initial and continuous physical therapy evaluations in accordance with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) standards of practice and state regulations.
  • Encourage the client’s progress toward mutually agreed-upon goals and a discharge plan, if necessary, by counselling and conferring with the client’s family and/or other caregivers.
  • Patients should be given information and training to help them reduce their medication use and avoid surgery.
  • When it comes to mobility and health, restore, maintain, and encourage not only optimal physical function but also ideal wellness, fitness, and quality of life.


  • A physical therapy degree from an APTA-approved program is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in rehabilitation, Orthopedics, and medical/surgical settings that demonstrate achievement of the required job knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or inpatient/outpatient setting is necessary.
  • Empathy, compassion, and the ability to inspire patients to test their limits in a responsible, safe, and successful manner are all important qualities.
  • The ideal applicant will have a strong sense of leadership and a strong willingness to learn and improve.
