Qualifications:
- Instructs, stimulates, and aids the patient with non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and the use of assistive and supportive equipment including crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Perform initial and continuous physical therapy evaluations in accordance with state regulations and the standards of practice of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Patients should be provided with information and training to help them cut down on their drug use and avoid surgery.
- You can avoid the formation, symptoms, and advancement of impairments, functional limits, and disabilities caused by diseases, disorders, maladies, or injuries by preventing the onset, symptoms, and progression of those impairments, functional limits, and disabilities.
- Tests and evaluates the patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capabilities, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and keeps track of the results to build or amend treatment programs.
- As appropriate, provide guidance and communication to the client’s family and/or other caregivers in order to assist the client in achieving mutually agreed-upon goals and a discharge plan.
- To get further patient information, make treatment program changes, and integrate physical therapy with other aspects of the patient’s health care, the therapist consults with a physician and other practitioners.
- Restore, maintain, and stimulate not just optimal physical function, but also ideal wellness, fitness, and quality of life when it comes to mobility and health.
- Implement a Care Plan, hold patients accountable for sticking to it, and alter the schedule and plan as needed based on the patient’s progress.
- Understands different payer payments and distributes therapy resources efficiently depending on resident goals and outcomes in connection to discharge destination.
Skills:
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or inpatient/outpatient setting for at least one year is required.
- Experience in rehabilitation, Orthopedics, and medical/surgical settings that indicates achievement of needed work knowledge, skills, and abilities is sought.
- Empathy, compassion, and the capacity to urge patients to push their boundaries in a responsible, safe, and productive manner are all important qualities.
- The applicant should have a drive to learn and improve his abilities on a continual basis, as well as a leadership spirit.
- An APTA-approved physical therapy degree is required.
