- Conduct vehicle inspections before to, during, and after each trip, following established procedures, and completing all necessary paperwork and reports. Drive the car safely and responsibly, stopping to allow passengers to enter and depart.
- Maintain, read, and understand the route sheets, including time adjustments, and notify the supervisor of any changes quickly. “By adhering to a strict schedule and taking just a few days off each month, you’ll be able to build a robust work ethic.
- Keep hold of your vehicle keys and receipts for fueling, as well as any pre- and post-trip documentation required by your supervisor.
- A positive attitude toward your employees, bosses, and passengers will go a long way in promoting your company’s image.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle and its component components in accordance with the company’s specifications to guarantee safety, reduce wear, and prolong the vehicle’s useful life.
- It is imperative that all of the vehicle’s unique equipment be fully examined before each journey and that all documentation be submitted.
- Maintain a professional look by dressing appropriately for the job, grooming neatly, and maintaining excellent hygiene.
- Clean and sanitize the allocated bus at all times by mopping, cleaning all seats and the top, sweeping, and washing the bus.
- Employing safe and responsible practices, operate an adaptable transportation lift to board and discharge disabled persons.
- Operate an allocated route with the utmost care so that passengers may go where they need to go on schedule while also providing a safe and timely service.
- Before loading or unloading children on certain kinds of school buses, the driver steps on the emergency brake pedal or depresses the air brake button, then pulls the lever or depresses the air brake button to release the emergency brake.
- It is necessary to have at least three years of verifiable driving experience. There had been no more than two moving violations and one preventable accident in the prior three years.
- Passenger and School Bus endorsements are required on a valid Class B or higher commercial driver’s license.
- Wheelchairs with a maximum weight of 40 pounds may be lifted, stored, disassembled, and reassembled by the attendant.
