Job Description
The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities Supervisor and is responsible for the care of the company’s buildings and grounds, as well as the upkeep of all allocated equipment. Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs all corporate buildings and grounds, including roads, parking lots, ditches, and other related locations. Including, but not limited to, general cleaning, painting, flooring, door and hardware repair, roofing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and concrete work.

Qualifications:
- Execute various semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks in order to keep buildings and grounds in good working condition. Serve as a point of contact for any building-related concerns (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
- Through rounding and issue management, this person makes sure that the entire entity is being watched. They also find opportunities for complex facility improvements, provide recommendations and work orders, and oversee their completion to improve the customer experience and service levels.
- To ensure that all of the central plant’s functions, as well as day-to-day operations and minor facility needs, are being properly maintained by technicians, it is necessary to go through daily records.
- Does extensive maintenance repairs and analysis. Consistently meets or exceeds code, ordinance, and law requirements. As needed, performs preventive maintenance assessments of the department’s emergency systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). Obtains clarification from Lead Tech/Supervisor if needed.
- In order for facility assistants/technicians to succeed, they must have a good self-image. An excellent technique to keep your workers motivated and satisfied is via peer accountability.
- Assign normal, operational duties to allocated employees in line with predetermined work priorities and act as a work leader.
- Incorporates and adjusts alarms and trend setups, as well as conducts high-level data analytics and alarm reporting functions.
- This person leads and inspires a team-oriented unit to meet departmental objectives while providing an example of great work habits.
- Facilitates open, professional (verbal, nonverbal, written) communication to establish mutual understanding, role modeling by example. Clear and professional communication promotes both work efforts and issue solutions, ensuring the best quality service for both customers and patients..
- Manage the work order system for scheduling PM’s, projects, and general work orders in order to satisfy key performance indicators for the facilities division.
Skills:
- As determined by ongoing skills, competency and performance assessments, demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and competencies necessary to accomplish the assigned work safely and effectively.
- Ability to do job activities that need standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in tiny openings and climbing hand over hand, lifting 50 pounds, and working on ladders/lifts in environments prone to noise, heat, dust, or cold.
- An expert in at least one trade such as carpentry or plumbing or electrical or painting or roofing or heating or cooling, or general maintenance, is required.
- language skills necessary to carry out the essential obligations of this profession, especially in connection to acts that affect patient or employee safety or security
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
